Professional Book Editor and Marketer

Hi, I’m Caylah Coffeen and I specialize in editing and marketing great sci-fi and fantasy books, including ones with themes of faith. I earned a B.A. in Creative Writing and Media Studies at Franklin and Marshall College, but was too afraid to try to enter the publishing industry. “There’s no point – it’s too competitive, and there’s no money in it, I thought.”

So instead, I applied my various communications skills to the areas of photography, TV, radio, newspapers, and corporate copywriting. But the more indie authors I saw braving the marketplace with their stories, the more I thought, “how could I not even try?”

So I joined the teams at Monster Ivy Publishing and Eschler Editing, where I trained as an editor and marketer, before opening my own startup to work with authors. I also currently work as an editor with Havok Publishing.

I’m glad for all my work in the corporate world, because it taught me how to analyze each book as a potential product, strategically plan for each release, and craft a brand that will set each author up for success!

I love what I do! I like to say, “Jesus is my first love, and books are my second.” Nothing makes me light up more than when an author gets excited about how far their book has come!
